Having low self-esteem seems to ruin adolescents, and having high-self esteem seems to do the exact same. How do teenagers learn to deal with finding the median between the highs and lows of self-esteem without it ruining their emotional/mental being? A theoretical answer to that question would be to just "stay in between," although, life was never meant to be that easy.
Thinking about how teenagers work in our society seems amazingly simple. Except, it's never that easy. Teens experience judgement, hatred, pain, and complications, all while learning to become who they're supposed to be. This can easily affect their self-esteem in the process of trying to keep it up there. The best advice to keeping a median with your self-esteem is to stay true to who you desire to be without worrying about what he/she says about their thoughts on you. This may not be easy, but life was never easy. Can you think of a time being yourself has resulted in negative karma? If so, you must've been worrying about something other than doing what makes you happy. Keep your focus on yourself and what happiness means to you in order to block out all negativity that enters your life. Try this out and see how well life treats you! If you disagree, let me know why. Focusing on my happiness has made life easier and more enjoyable throughout my teenage years with no hesitation.
